Marion City Council Votes 4-1 Against Recreational Marijuana Sales

Marion – The Marion City Council is voting not to allow recreational marijuana businesses come to the city. The council voted 4-1 on the measure to prohibit recreational marijuana sales at their meeting last night. Murphysboro’s city council will vote on a similar ordinance at their council meeting this evening. The use of recreational marijuana becomes legal in Illinois on January 1st.
