Three Involved in Motorcycle vs Truck Crash in Gallatin Co.

Gallatin Co. – Three people were involved in an accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Gallatin County around 5:45 Wednesday evening. Illinois State Police say 27-year-old Carol Steele of New Haven was attempting to turn left in her pickup truck onto Illinois 141 from Vine Street in New Haven as a motorcycle, driven by 44-year-old Christopher Fields of Norris City, was traveling east on Illinois 141. Steele failed to see Fields and Fields struck the rear driver side of Steele’s truck. Fields and his passenger, 43-year-old Renata Field of Norris City, were taken to an out of state hospital. Steele was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgway Police Department, Gallatin County EMS, Air Evac 138, Omaha Fire Department, Jones Towing and Hoskins Towing.
