Reported COVID-19 Cases Reach 63 in Southern Illinois Monday

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 1,298 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 10 additional confirmed deaths.

Local case breakdown:

  • Union County: 22
  • Williamson County: 14
  • Franklin County: nine
  • Jackson County: six
  • White County: four (two isolated at home, two statuses in progress)
  • Saline County: three (two isolated at home, one status in progress)
  • Hamilton County: two
  • Hardin, Massac and Pulaski counties: one each
  • Unless noted above, all cases are in isolation.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 183,241 cases, including 7,526 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from July 27- August 2 is four percent.
