INA – Rend Lake College is one of several community colleges across Illinois to receive grant money from the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) for improvements for their Career and Technical Education programs. The announcement came from the ICCB last week.
RLC will receive just over $88,000 of the statewide $1.7 million in grant money.
Kim Wilkerson, Associate Vice President for Career and Technical Education and Student Support at RLC, said the plan for the grant money is to make WiFi more accessible all over Rend Lake’s campus.
Wilkerson added the college’s research shows that under 50% of students who live in rural areas have access to high speed internet at home.
