HARRISBURG – The Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) Primary Care facility in Harrisburg will be closed Monday due to multiple employees testing positive for COVID-19.
According to a Facebook post by SIH, the facility is closed for deep cleaning “out of an abundance of caution.” The organization said they believe there was no risk of exposure to patients recentl;y treated at the clinic with safety measures and precautions previously taken.
“SIH is collaborating with Egyptian Health Department and SIH infectious disease personnel to begin contact tracing,” the post stated. “Due to positives confirmed from community contact, we remain vigilant and continue to take precautions for the safety and well-being of our staff and patients.”
All scheduled appointments at the facility will be converted to video and/or telephone visits. SIH saidthat they’ll continue to monitor the situation and will share more information regarding clinic re-opening as soon as possible.
