SOUTHERN ILLNOIS – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday announced 1,392 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including seven additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 252,353 cases, including 8,186 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.

Local case breakdown:

• • Williamson County: eight, three deaths at a long-term care facility
  • Union County: eight
  • Johnson County: six
  • Franklin County: five
  • Pulaski County: four
  • Hamilton, Alexander, Massac and Jackson counties: three each
  • White, Perry and Hardin counties: two each
  • Gallatin, Jefferson, Pope and Saline counties: one each

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests from Sept. 1-7 is four percent.
