SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday reported 3,714 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 41 additional deaths. With mitigations beginning Oct. 22, 12 southern Illinois counties reported new cases.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 350,875 cases, including 9,277 deaths statewide.
Local case breakdown:
- Franklin County: 29
- Williamson County: 24
- Johnson County: 12
- Jackson County: 11
- Jefferson and Union counties: 10
- Saline County: seven
- Perry County: three
- Alexander, Massac and White counties: two each
- Gallatin County: one
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate regarding total tests from Oct. 13-19 is 5.5 percent.
