GALLATIN COUNTY – Two people are recovering follow a two-vehicle crash in Gallatin County Sunday afternoon.
According to Illinois State Police, a 2012 silver Chrysler 200 driven by a 17-year-old female from Harrisburg failed rear-ended a 2019 white Dodge Charger, driven by a 17-year-old male from Eldorado, which was driving south on Illinois 142 approaching Long Lane Road. The driver of the Charger braked to turn left onto Long Lane Road when the driver on the Chrysler 200 failed to brake and struck the rear of the Charger.
The driver of the Chrysler 200 was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries. One of her passengers, a 17-year-old female from Eldorado, was taken by private vehicle to an area hospital with minor injuries while her other passenger, a 15-year-old female from Harrisburg, was not hurt.
The driver of the Dodge Charger and his two passengers, 18-year-old Myqual Callamore of Eldorado and 23-year-old Bradley Williamson of Eldorado, were not injured.
The driver of the Chrysler 200 was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
