SPRINGFIELD – Officials with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 4,318 new COVID-19 cases, including 33 additional deaths statewide Tuesday. Over 300 cases were confirmed across southern Illinois, with many stemming from multi-day reports.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,076,532 cases, including 18,291 deaths.

- Franklin County: 19
- Jefferson and Massac counties: 16 each
- Johnson County: 12
- Alexander County: 11
- Hamilton County: 11 (since 1/15)
- Saline County: 10
- Pulaski County: eight
- Pope County: seven
- White and Hardin counties: five each
- Gallatin County: two
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Jan. 12–18 is 5.7 percent.
