WAYNE COUNTY – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Wayne County Friday afternoon.

According to Illinois State Police, 52-year-old Tracy Williams of Flora was driving her SUV south on US 45 attempting to turn left onto the Interstate 64  eastbound ramp as a car driven by 87-year-old James Newman of Enfield was traveling north in the same location.

Williams failed to yield right of way and turned in front of Newman, striking him head-on. Williams was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of injuries.

Newman and his juvenile passengers were not hurt. Wiliams was cited for failure to yield right of way while turning left.
