New COVID-19 Cases Total 39 in Southern Illinois Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 1,655 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, including 17 additional deaths. SOuthern Illinois health departments reported a total of 39 new cases of the novel coronavirus.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,213,765 cases, including 20,988 deaths.

Local case breakdown:

  • Williamson County: 14
  • Franklin County: eight
  • Saline and White counties: four each
  • Hardin County: three
  • Jackson and Pope counites: two each
  • Massac and Union counties: one each

A total of 5,101,825 does of vaccine have been delivered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 414,900 doses total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing the total Illinois doses to 5,516,725.

A total of 4,283,487 vaccines have been administered so far in Illinois, including 358,234 for long-term care facilities. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 102,223 doses. On Tuesday, 102,390 doses were reported administered in Illinois.
