SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Gov. JB Pritzker said Illinois could be moving to the new “Bridge” phase in less than a week.
Although more than 70% of seniors are now vaccinated, the state hasn’t been able to move out of Phase Four due to rising COVID-10 cases and hospitalizations.
However, the governor said that may change.
The latest daily totals have been more than 2,100 new cases and over 2,000 COVID patients in the hospital. That state Department of Health has confirmed an excess of 2,500 cases of COVID variants in Illinois.
