MT. VERNON – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report of an armed carjacking Friday afternoon on Dix-Texico Road.

Reports indicate two masked people wearing camouflage and armed with handguns took a 2002 black Dodge Ram 4-door at gunpoint and fled eastbound on Dix-Texico Road.

Other area law enforcement agencies were alerted to be on the lookout for the vehicle. No other details are available at this time.
