SPRINGFIELD (IOCI RADIO) – Illinois will fully reopen today.
After more than a year of the devastating pandemic, the state has finally reached Phase 5. State Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike noted multiple factors will change.
She added number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital is at an all-time low, as is the positivity rate.
Ezike said in accordance with CDC guidelines, masks will still be required on public transportation, in health care settings and at school. Businesses may require masks in their stores.
Unvaccinated Illinoisans are encouraged to continue social distancing and wearing a mask when out in public.
