Alcohol Sold to Minors at Businesses in Three Area Counties

EFFINGHAM – Illinois State Police Zone 8 recently released the results of Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) surveillance at various establishments in the seven counties it serves during June, including. Three local counties – Gallatin, Saline and White – contained businesses that sold alcohol to minors.

  • Gallatin County: Jacs Place LLC in Equality
  • Saline County: Aldi in Harrisburg, Casey’s General Store in Carrier Mills, JD’s Video Gaming and Liquors in Harrisburg, ROC One Stop in Carrier Mills and Speakeasy Liquors in Harrisburg.
  • White County: Road Ranger in Grayville, Rock Bottom Liquors in Carmi and Silver Dollar Gaming in Carmi.

ISP said the goals are to enforce underage drinking laws and save lives by preventing impaired driving crashes and fatalities. The project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
