State Minimum Wage to Increase to $12 an Hour

SPRINGFIELD (IOCI RADIO) – The state minimum wage will increase January 1.

2022 will bring a one dollar raise, from $11 to $12 an hour for minimum wage workers. Those under 18 will earn $9.25 and tipped workers will be at $7.20 an hour, according to Illinois Department of Labor Assistant Director Jason Keller.

Illinois’ minimum wage will eventually reach $15 an hour in 2025.
