Birth Control Now Available Without Prescription in Illinois

(IOCI RADIO) – Women can now get birth control without a prescription in Illinois.

A new law now in effect increases access to contraceptives, by letting specially trained pharmacists dispense the pill.

Sen. Melinda Bush of Grayslake spoke at the bill signing in July about how pharmacists will work closely with customers.

The law allows pharmacists to dispense a year’s worth of hormonal contraceptives like the pill, ring or patch.
