Carbondale Man Arrested for Battery with Deadly Weapon

CARBONDALE – A Carbondale man is facing charges after Carbondale Police responded Wednesday night to the 100 block of North Washington Street in reference to a report of an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon complaint.  

According to Carbondale Police, officers learned the victim and suspect were socializing in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street when the suspect displayed what appeared to be a firearm. The suspect used the weapon to hit the victim multiple times. The victim fled and called the police. The victim was taken to the emergency room for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  

Officers located and arrested the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler W. Edwards, of Carbondale for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon other than a Firearm as well as an arrest warrant from Williamson County for Criminal Trespass to Residence while persons were present. Additional charges may be pending.
