(IOCI RADIO) – Gov. J.B. Pritzker is touting his proposal to expand the healthcare workforce in Illinois.
It’s called The Pipeline for the Advancement of Healthcare, or PATH workforce program. Pritzker said it would be run through local community colleges and provide support to students facing barriers to furthering their education.
The governor is asking lawmakers to approve $25 million for the effort. It would focus on high-need professionals such as nurses, EMTs and respiratory therapists.
