Two Arrested After Carbondale Storage Facility Burglary

CARBONDALE – Two men have been arrested after Carbondale Police responded to the 1100 block of North Illinois Avenue last Monday regarding a burglary at a storage facility.

According to Carbondale Police, officers learned the suspects damaged a storage unit and stole property.

Last Tuesday, officers met with the victim who discovered property taken in the theft was at a local pawn shop. During the course of the investigation, officers identified 43-year-old Jeremy S. Lyles of Carbondale and 29-year-old Michael S. Williams of Carbondale, as the suspects.  

Officers located and arrested Williams for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property and Lyles for Possession of Stolen Property. Williams and Lyles were lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

A search warrant was granted as a result of the investigation and additional property was recovered.

Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
