(IOCI RADIO) – It’s official: the state’s indoor mask mandate will be lifted today.
No masks will have to be worn in stores, restaurants, bars and gyms. In a Facebook post, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said it’s due to significant declines in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
Masks will still remain required in the locations such as doctor’s offices, on public transportation and in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
Ezike said some people may want to continue wearing a mask as a precaution.
