(IOCI RADIO) – Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike will leave her position later this month.
Ezike became a recognizable name as she helped guide the state through the COVID-19 pandemic. Gov. J.B. Pritzker had high praise Tuesday for for his director after her three years of service to the state.
Ezike said her immediate plans are to “take a breather” and reconnect with herself as well as her husband and four kids. Pritzker issued a proclamation designating March 1 as “Dr. Ezike Day” in Illinois.
