(IOCI RADIO) – Illinois lawmakers passed a bill to help consumers receive the advertised sale price at the grocery store.

The measure, sponsored by Sen. Meg Loughran-Cappel of Shorewood, would require supermarkets to show both the original price and discounted price at the register, on the receipt, or a store display.

The legislation now need signed into law by the governor.
