HERRIN – A Herrin woman died in a crash involving a semi and SUV in Energy Wednesday morning.

According to Energy Police, 30-year-old Ciara Corbitt of Herrin was going south on Illinois 148 when she crossed the center turn lane hitting the trailer of a semi going north on Illinois 148 driven by Zachary Ramage of Anna.

Police say Corbitt died at the scene. Ramage was not hurt.

The northbound lanes of Illinois 148 were closed for a few hours due to the crash.

Energy Police investigated the crash. An Illinois State Police accident reconstructionist was called in to finish the investigation.
