ELDORADO – A murder-suicide is under investigation in Eldorado.
According to media reports, two people were found dead inside a home near the intersection of Burnett and Benton streets in Eldorado Tuesday morning after a family member went to check on them. It was reported that the man and woman lived there. It’s believed that they had been dead for two days.
One body was found in the bedroom and the other in the living room. After discovering the bodies, the family member contacted police. The names of the deceased have not been released pending family notification.
It was also reported that the Saline County Coroner has not done an autopsy yet on the bodies, but the cause of death is not known as the coroner is awaiting toxicology reports.
Illinois State Police told WQRL/WISH/WMCL News Wednesday that they are assisting Eldorado Police and the Saline County Coroner’s Office with the investigation.
