ALTO PASS – Rendleman Orchards, located on Illinois 127 North in Alto Pass, kicked off its 150th season Saturday, but a special ceremony is planned for Wednesday to mark the milestone.

A Sesquicentennial Bell Ringing Ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

Sirles says many bells have been ordered for this occasion.

According to the Rendleman Orchards website, the orchard began in 1873 and the family farm has grown to be a beacon of quality and tradition spanning five generations of the Rendleman-Sirles family.

Wednesday’s event is free and open to the public.
