METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

On April 2, 2024, a Metropolis officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration on East 8th and Oak Street. A compute check revealed that the driver, Caleb K. Sewell, 25, of Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. He also had no proof of valid insurance. Sewell was charged and released on a notice to appear.

On April 2, 2024, Metropolis 911 received four calls from the rest area from Nicholas J. Silano, 39, of Santillo, TX. He kept calling stated he wanted someone to call his mother because he was hungry. Each time he called, he was informed that this was a misuse of 911. When he called again, officers responded and he was arrested and charged with reported false alarm to 911. He was released on a notice to appear.

On April 5, 2024, a Metropolis sergeant stopped a black Honda for expired registration and defective tail light. A computer check on the driver, Jerimiah C. Shipley, 35, of Mayfield, KY, showed he had a suspended driver’s license. Shipley was charged with expired registration and driving while suspended. He was released on a notice to appear.

On April 6, 2024, a Metropolis officer observed a vehicle turning off of 12th Street into the Fairmount Apartments. The officer recognized the driver, Tyler M. Bradbury, 22, of Wingo, KY, and was aware that his driver’s license was suspended. Bradbury was charged and released on a notice to appear.
