METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024. 

On Oct. 14, 2024, a Metropolis officer observed Jade Calmese, 33, of Metropolis walking towards Huck’s through the parking lot. The officer was aware that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Criminal Trespass to Property. The officer followed her into the store where she was arrested. A search found her to be in possession of Methamphetamine and she tossed a glass smoking pipe. Upon arrival to the Massac County Detention Center, she complained of pain. Being 27 weeks pregnant, she was taken to Massac Memorial who then transported her to a hospital in Paducah. She was charged with the warrant, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was issued notices to appear.  

On Oct. 14, 2024, a victim came to the Metropolis Police Department to report a burglary and theft of a firearm and knife. The investigation revealed that Jerry A. Thoe, 38, of Karnak had entered the residence while she was not at home and stole a gun and knife. Officers were able to locate Thoe and he was subsequently arrested for Residential Burglary, Theft, and Unlawful Use/Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Thoe was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 14, 2024, a Metropolis Sergeant ran an Iowa registration plate on a vehicle parked at the rest area. An NCIC Hit came back showing that the owner, Franklin C. White, 63, of Marion, IA, was wanted. The warrant was issued by Linn County, IA, for Felony Theft against the elderly and for dependent elderly abuse. White, who was asleep in the vehicle, was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 15, 2024, Michael T. Benton, 43, of Metropolis was arrested on Catherine Street. Benton was wanted on a Kentucky Department of Corrections warrant. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 18, 2024, Dalton A. Light, 31, of Metropolis was arrested near 8th and Metropolis Street. Light was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for defrauding a drug screen, He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 18, 2024, while directing traffic during the homecoming parade, a Metropolis officer observed Keith T. Willis, 45, of Metropolis at East 3rd and Ferry Street. The officer was aware that Willis was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Petition to Revoke Probation. Willis was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 19, 2024, a Metropolis Officer observed Terrance C. Moore, 41, of Metropolis raking leaves at a residence in the 200 block of East 11th. Moore was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Driving while License Suspended. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 20, 2024, Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of Catherine. Teresa S. Neimeyer, 33, of Metropolis was at the residence, which was a violation of the conditions of her bail bond. Even after being told numerous times that she could not be there, she refused to comply. She stated to the officers to take her to jail. They complied. Neimeyer was arrested for Violation of Bail Bond and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

On Oct. 20, 2024. Scott A Smith, 40, of Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the 1700 block of Filmore. Smith was wanted on a Massac County warrant for failure to pay fines. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
