MARION – The Marion Carnegie Library is once again partnering with Neighborhood Forest to provide free trees to children by Earth Day (April 22) 2025! This has been a popular program at MCL in the past and we are excited to offer it to our community once again.

Neighborhood Forest was founded in 2010 and is an organization with a mission of providing free trees to children. According to their website, neighborhoodforest.org, “Neighborhood Forest has reached over 2,000 schools, libraries, and youth groups – engaged over 500,000 volunteers – and planted over 197,000 (mostly urban and residential) trees through the hands of children and parents across North America.” Their goal is to “reach every child in North America, and eventually, the world.”
Marion Carnegie Library is proud to work with Neighborhood Forest to bring trees to children in Southern Illinois. For those who would like to participate, please visit https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=68587 to sign up to receive your free tree. The sign-up deadline is March 15.
Pickup will be at Marion Carnegie Library at a later date, which will be announced on Marion Carnegie Library’s Facebook page when available.
