PADUCAH – The entire region will continue to experience dangerous heat and humidity this week according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Most of the area is under an Extreme Heat Warning or Heat Advisory today.

Peak heat indices from around 105 to 110 or locally higher are expected in the Extreme Heat Warning each afternoon through at least Thursday. Areas in the Heat Advisory are expected to reach 100 to 106 each afternoon.

Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms may provide some limited relief from the heat today.

Stay hydrated and limit time outdoors. Always double-check for kids and pets in vehicles.

Cloud cover and storm coverage may tamp down the heat Friday through Sunday, so there is less confidence during that time period.

Heat index values may continue to peak in the 100 to 105+ degree range across at least portions of the region beyond Thursday.
