SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – It’s going to be another hot day across the area with heat index values up to 108 expected.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 7 Tuesday night according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Hot temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

You should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Also make sure your pets are taken care of if they have to stay outside. Bring them inside if you can. And don’t leave pets or your kids in your vehicle.

If you have to be outside, wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
