BROOKPORT – The City of Brookport plans a work zone lane restriction at the Illinois end of the U.S. 45 Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge today so the City can access a manhole immediately at the end of the bridge

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet office in Paducah, the work will require one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers from about 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m.

Due to limited space on the bridge deck, northbound motorists from Kentucky into Illinois should be alert for work zone signage at the Kentucky end of the bridge and be prepared to encounter a flagger near the curve at the Illinois end of the bridge.

Again, this work zone with alternating flow controlled by flaggers is expected to be in place from about 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., today to allow access to a manhole immediately at the Brookport end of the bridge.
